How We Turned a New eCommerce Brand into a Sales Channel Through SEO

The Task

The main objective was to build organic visibility for a new eCommerce brand in a competitive niche, with a strong focus on ranking category and product pages in search engines. The goal was to achieve real rankings for relevant products, drive sustainable organic growth, and support sales through SEO.

The challenge

Cadeau.bg launched as a new brand without established organic presence or search engine authority, in a highly competitive niche. User searches within the “gifts” category are highly fragmented and often based on occasion, specific characteristics, or particular needs, making it difficult to rank effectively through standard category pages alone.
An SEO solution was required that would ensure a strong site structure, cover multiple types of search intent, and avoid issues such as duplicate content and keyword cannibalization.

The Strategy

  1. Search Intent and Product Search Analysis

The SEO strategy began with an in-depth analysis of user searches within the gift niche, particularly personalized gifts, and the identification of different query types, from broader category-level searches to highly specific product queries.

Keywords were grouped based on intent, ranking potential in the SERPs, and organic traffic opportunity. This enabled the creation of a clear, logical site structure and contextual connections between categories, subcategories, and product pages.

  1. Implementation of SEO Filters

A key element of the strategy was the implementation of SEO filters designed to capture long-tail and mid-intent searches based on attributes such as gift type, occasion, and other relevant characteristics.

The filters were developed as indexable, tightly controlled pages with optimized metadata and partially automated content. This allowed relevant product combinations to rank effectively without creating duplicate content or keyword cannibalization issues.

3. On-Page Optimization and Internal Linking

In parallel, we performed on-page optimization of category and product pages, improving structure, refining metadata, and building a logical internal linking network. This enhanced both user navigation and search engine crawlability and understanding.

4. Data-Driven Optimization

All SEO actions were supported by continuous analysis of data from Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, and Ahrefs. Based on real performance metrics, we prioritized optimizations for pages and filters with the highest ranking potential, enabling timely adjustments and sustainable organic growth.

The results

Comparing the period September 2025 to December 2025 with the initial phase May 2025 to August 2025, Cadeau.bg recorded remarkable organic growth:

  • Organic clicks: +562%
  • Impressions: +362%
  • CTR: +45%
  • Average position: ~46% improvement

The results show a significant increase in organic visibility and a clear improvement in traffic quality. Higher CTR and improved average positions indicate stronger alignment with search intent and better positioning of product and category pages in the SERPs, achieved within a relatively short timeframe.

All improved metrics directly correlated with a substantial increase in orders and overall revenue.

Organic Presence Development (Ahrefs)

Ahrefs data for the period May 2025 to December 2025 shows clear organic growth from an almost zero baseline. At the beginning, the site had a minimal number of indexed pages and virtually no organic traffic.

In the first months, we observed a gradual increase in organic pages appearing in the SERPs, coinciding with the implementation of SEO filters. This led to steady, moderate traffic growth through the end of summer.

September to October 2025 marked a key turning point. Organic traffic increased sharply without a significant rise in indexed pages. By December 19, 2025, Cadeau.bg reached approximately 1,080 monthly organic visits, estimated. This clearly indicates that growth resulted from a strong SEO structure and effective positioning, not from mass page expansion.

This pattern reflects a well-controlled eCommerce SEO strategy, where prioritizing the right categories, products, and SEO filter combinations translates into measurable business results.

Keyword Position Growth (Ahrefs)

Ahrefs data for the period May 2025 to December 2025 shows a gradual but steady shift of Cadeau.bg’s keywords toward higher positions in the SERPs. At the beginning of the period, the site had virtually no visibility. As of May 1, 2025, only 1 keyword ranked in positions 11–20, with no presence in the top 10 or top 3.

Over the following months, there was a clear accumulation of rankings within the 11–20 and 4–10 ranges, which is typical for a new eCommerce site building relevance and trust. A key turning point occurred in September to October 2025, when a significant portion of queries began moving onto the first page.

By December 19, 2025, the site ranked for 43 keywords, including:

  • 14 keywords in positions 1–3
  • 28 keywords in positions 4–10
  • 1 keyword in positions 11–20

Conclusion

Cadeau.bg demonstrates how a well-structured eCommerce SEO strategy can build strong organic presence for a new brand in a competitive niche within a short period of time.
